So, after spending all your dough on wax and celebrating an incredible RSD 2013 we would like to give you something back….With pleasure, we invite you to the première of the new extended version of ”Last shop Standing”.
The Camera’s have recently been rolling in store, and we are delighted to announce that we are featured in the new extended version of this award winning documentary.
This will be shown in conjunction with Record Store day for the first time, especially for you.
The documentary gives an amazing insight to the rise, and fall then rebirth of the record shop. Beautifully shot on location at many of the country’s top record stores, this insightful film sums up why we love music, and why record shops are important.
More info can be found at http://lastshopstanding.com
The Film starts at 8pm @ the Reg venue and Entry is absolutely free. We would advise getting there early to claim a seat (there is room for approx 50 seated, but of course you are welcome to stand).
We will also provide some free popcorn to help you get in to cinema mode…
We will also be selling copies of the DVD and Book straight after the film – it really is a great film full of passion and charming stories. I’m sure you’ll want to see it more than once..
Then when we’ve had our nappy changed, and been fed and watered it’s all about celebrating P&V’s first birthday!
Vinyl only DJ set by the Pie&Vinyl Staff, and the good brothers and Sisters of Southsea/Portsmouth.
After the exclusive premier of the extended version of ‘last shop standing’ The Pie&Vinyl staff will be Disc Jockying through to the early hours…and we would love to invite you good folk to spin your favourite tracks!
Here’s the twist…we will be dj’ing using vinyl only, and we want you to join us. We encourage y’all to bring your favourite pieces of wax, with your favourite tracks, and get up and play them!
We will be handing around a clipboard, and asking for the names of ladies and gents who want to spin the records they feel we must hear….you simply let us know what you want to play, and for how long – and we will give you a time slot. No experience necessary, as there will be *an expert* (someone) around who can put them on for you if need be.
We hope we will get a great mix of peoples music tastes, and learn of some new tunes all on the ultimate format! If it crackles and pops, it’s alive!
In a nutshell….Bring some of your favourite LP’s, 12″,10″ & 7″, and play them with the staff of Pie&Vinyl.
It’s going to be a play-list like no other! How wonderful…
See you there!
