@ 7:00pm, Tuesday 6th December – Free Entry
A super massive honour for us in P&V, as we welcome long time favourites FRIGHTENED RABBIT to the shop.
The guys will be playing a special intimate acoustic show, while you munch your way through a ‘Frightened Rabbit’ inspired pie (The band are creating the pie filling, more news on that soon – surely not a rabbit pie? Too obvious, right?)
We’ll also be proudly selling the latest LP, ‘Painting Of A Panic Attack’ which was released back in April. Along with any other Frightened Rabbit back cat stock we can get our hands on, on all physical formats.
The guys will be signing any albums purchased, and anything you’d like to bring along to the shop on the night.
It’s free to get in of course, but only to the first 60 odd people. We will open our doors around 6:50pm, and it will be on a first come first served (let in) basis:)
The guys have very kindly agreed to stop by and play whilst on a UK Winter tour and appearing at the Wedgewood Rooms that same night. Tickets available HERE
And we’ll be selling some in the shop on the night, for when you are blown away and decide you can make it after all.
More news on the band below.
See you soon!

The Sunday Times ‘Culture’ – “the kind of stuff that fills stadiums”

After triumphant appearances at T in the Park, Glastonbury and Latitude, Selkirk’s finest Frightened Rabbit have announced a third date at Glasgow’s Barrowland as part of the already announced Winter UK tour of their album, “Painting of a Panic Attack’. The tour kicks off in Manchester on 30th November, and takes in Birmingham, Leeds, Norwich, Brighton, Portsmouth, London’s Roundhouse on 7th December, Bristol, Nottingham, Newcastle, with the Scottish run seeing the band play in Aberdeen on 13th December, Inverness on 14th and concluding the tour with three nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland on 16th, 17th (both sold out) and 18th December.
Tickets for the tour are on sale now – http://frightenedrabbit.com/shows/
Released in April 2016, hitting the Top 20 in the UK album charts and achieving the best critical reception of the band’s career to date, Frightened Rabbit’s fifth studio album Painting Of A Panic Attack saw the addition of The National’s Aaron Dessner on production duties. The album is much indebted lyrically to Los Angeles, following Scott’s move from Scotland to the States in 2014. Taking inspiration from what he saw, Painting is often a love/hate letter to LA.
Alongside the tour dates, the band has also unveiled a raw and beautiful live acoustic version of album closer ‘Die Like A Rich Boy’ – https://youtu.be/JGxyCs30tfU.
Dessner says of ‘Die Like A Rich Boy’: “([The song] feels like a completely classic song, but it’s also a distillation of everything Scott has ever written about. It’s so gracefully constructed and realized, and it’s not trying to be anything other than what it is. I wish I could write a song like that.”
